Positive Psychology is a relatively new field which is often called the modernized version of humanistic theory. Positive psychologists believe in the power of optimism, positivity, enthusiasm, etc. in terms of improving quality of life (both physical and psychological). Martin Seligman was the founder of the positive psychology movement. It is hard not to think about positive psychology when we read Rogers' theory that is filled with adjectives such as acceptance, positive regard, support, optimism, etc. What do you think about the key tenets of Positive Psychology? What do you think Freud would think?
